American Recovery and Reinvestment Act – Broadband Stimulus to Empower a Nation
Industries that are ready for change, embrace it.
Allied Fiber was formed to address the need for the nation’s next-generation broadband and network infrastructure. In November 2008, five months after the formation of Allied Fiber, the US Government also confronted the nation’s communication infrastructure issues. The US Broadband Stimulus was born-- further validating Allied Fiber’s core mission to deliver necessary capacity and access to all of America.
Over the past ten years, with the development of the nation’s communications infrastructure, we have further demonstrated that knowledge is power. Broadband networks enable the delivery of knowledge, therefore empowering a nation. But it’s difficult to empower a complete nation, especially when there is a surmounting problem for network operators to reach unserved or under-served areas. Today, broadband networks are provided in the densest areas, serving the most affluent regions of the country. Other areas access technology born over 100 years ago, riding copper infrastructure that limits access to information and services.
Allied Fiber aims to construct a modern communications infrastructure system that addresses the lack of broadband throughout the nation. The plan includes a combination of wireline and wireless last mile and middle mile facilities. In September 2009, Allied Fiber began construction of the most advanced, national dark fiber network combining wireless towers with modern and abundant fiber, including regeneration and colocation facilities. The network will be used to connect local, regional, national and international wireline and wireless networks to major telecommunications hubs and Internet backbones throughout the United States. This is the model for the solution to the middle mile issue – enabling the last mile to link to the Internet core. In addition, Allied Fiber’s network infrastructure solution is based on open access and carrier neutral interconnection – unlike any other network operator today.
Allied Fiber's Network

With Allied Fiber’s network, the wholesale fiber backhaul market demand will be met, as well as new data centers, towers and regional backhaul providers will emerge.
There are still some that do not understand Allied Fiber’s role and think that the company will compete for end-user or last mile lit service companies. Allied Fiber strongly believes in its open network model, providing a means for network operators to serve the end-users through their own unique lit services. Allied Fiber will only lease dark fiber.
So if you’re an RLEC, ILEC, Cable Company, wireless provider, wireless ISP, network operator, carrier and more, you too can lease dark fiber from Allied Fiber to get you where you need to go. Allied Fiber offers long-term lease contracts with fixed and very reasonable rates. This solution enables companies to control the bandwidth and the underlying costs, ensuring a competitive and unique network deployment for each individual operator.
The industry is about to be re-born.
